How to ask the CCF for access or deletion
The Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files is an independent body within INTERPOL that decides individual requests to access, correct or delete data. Since 26 March 2026 requests must go through its online portal.
- Anyone may ask the CCF for access to data about them held in INTERPOL's files, and may ask for that data to be corrected or deleted.1
- Since 10:00 CET on 26 March 2026, the CCF's online portal is the only channel for requests, and email and postal requests are no longer accepted except in exceptional circumstances.2
- Applicants or their authorised representatives submit requests and supporting documents through the portal. Video and audio files are not accepted.2
- The CCF says it does not collect any fee. It decides access requests within four months, and correction or deletion requests within nine months, of the date a request becomes admissible.3
- An applicant may apply for revision only on the basis of a newly discovered fact, within six months of discovering it.3,2
- INTERPOL's own background note states that the CCF's decisions are final and binding on the Organization.4
